Dr. VaCora Rainey grew up in Racine, Wisconsin and attended Marquette University. She graduated from the University of Tennessee-Memphis College of Dentistry in 2001. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Rainey joined the United States Army. She served as a Captain in the Dental Corps at the Pentagon for 4 years treating senior officers and senior enlisted members from all branches of the military.
Giving back to the community is one of Dr. Rainey’s life missions. She currently serves on the Health Services Committee for the Stafford County Head Start Program. Dr. Rainey also enjoys volunteering with the Mission of Mercy (MOM) Project, a program dedicated to providing free dental care to patients in need.
Dr. Rainey is very involved with issues that affect the practice of dentistry. She’s a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Virginia Dental Association (VDA), and the Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS). Dental Advocacy is an additional area where she has dedicated her time and enjoys serving. She was nominated to serve on the Virginia Dental Association House of Delegates in 2009 and continues to represent the Northern Virginia Component. She was appointed and continues to serve on the Council on Government Affairs for the VDA—serving as a voice for patients and dentists in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She also serves as the Action Team Leader (ATL) for Congressman Rob Wittman (R-1st). Action Team Leaders help support the ADA’s advocacy efforts in their congressional districts by being the primary dental contact with their Legislator.
Dr. Rainey lives in Stafford with her husband Zol and son, Zol II. She enjoys reading, travel and wine tasting.
