Dr. VaCora Rainey grew up in Racine, Wisconsin and attended Marquette University. She graduated from the University of Tennessee-Memphis College of Dentistry in 2001. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Rainey joined the United States Army. She served as a Captain in the Dental Corps at the Pentagon for 4 years treating senior officers and senior enlisted members from all branches of the military. Giving back to the community is one of Dr. Rainey’s life missions. She currently serves on the Health Services Committee for the Stafford County Head Start Program. Dr. Rainey also enjoys volunteering with the Mission of Mercy (MOM) Project, a program dedicated to providing free dental care to patients in need. Dr. Rainey is very involved with issues that affect the practice of dentistry. She’s a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Virginia Dental Association (VDA), and the Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS). Dental Advocacy is an additional area where she has dedicated her time and enjoys serving. She was nominated to serve on the Virginia Dental Association House of Delegates in 2009 and continues to represent the Northern Virginia Component. She was appointed and continues to serve on the Council on Government Affairs for the VDA—serving as a voice for patients and dentists in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She also serves as the Action Team Leader (ATL) for Congressman Rob Wittman (R-1st). Action Team Leaders help support the ADA’s advocacy efforts in their congressional districts by being the primary dental contact with their Legislator. Dr. Rainey lives in Stafford with her husband Zol and son, Zol II. She enjoys reading, travel and wine tasting.
Dr. Torrey is from Sarasota, Florida. He is a 1987 Graduate of the prestigious University of Tennessee Center for Health Science in Memphis, Tennessee. His undergraduate work was completed at Harding University where he graduated with Honors. He is currently enrolled in the Mastership Program at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Torrey has been a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry since 2005. The Academy of General Dentistry is an organization committed to improving patient care through life long longevity. The fellowship award is the academy's 2ndHighest Honor and represents at least 5 years of membership and 500 hours of continuing education and completion of a vigorous fellowship exam. Dr. Torrey has completed more than 2,100 hours of continuing education, he is a Deligate for the Virginia Dental Association, and was also awarded "Top Dentist" by Northern Virginia Magazine in 2009-2013. June 29, 2013 Dr. Torrey achieved one of dentistry's most prestigious career goals. By becoming a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Torrey has demonstrated a long-term commitment to providing you and your family with the most up-to-date treatment options and superior patient care. Dr. Torrey has been in practice in Fredericksburg, Virginia since 1987 and has experience and special training in implant restoration, invisalign orthodontics, veneers, and a vast amount of General and Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. McAvoy graduated from The University of Richmond with a BA in Biology. In 1987, Dr. McAvoy graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, and went on to become involved in the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. With thousands of hours completed in continued education in Cosmetic Dentistry, Implant Placement and Restoration, Oxygen/Ozone Therapy, Dr. McAvoy founded Forest Dental Center in 2001 along with Cari Zello. Together, they went on to found Dentistry from the Heart in 2007. In his personal life, Dr. McAvoy is an active member of the Peakland United Methodist Church of Lynchburg, Board of Directors member at New Covenant Schools, and a Mentor Professor at the Free Clinic of Central Virginia. He enjoys travelling, gardening, boating, fishing, photography, and cooking, and is an Eagle Scout with two Palms. He enjoys a very active life in Lynchburg, VA, with his daughter, and wife Amy.
Office Manager In 2007, Stephanie entered into the field of dentistry, after majoring in Business Management from 2002 to 2006 at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Stephanie assists the office as the bubbly personality at the front desk. Currently, Stephanie resides in Ruther Glen, Virginia with her husband Chad, and their 3 children.
